“Public spaces are anti-social spaces”
Stance
This installation challenges the thesis or test the thesis.
It is usual for people to have problems or not
familiar with their destination at the transportation stations. Some stations
set information centres while most of them do not. People sometimes ask for
help from others but it is likely that others are also as confused as they are.
In the meantime, those who actually know the answers of their questions would
not notice them, because they are too familiar with the environment that they
are usually just listening to music or playing their mobile phones. It feels
like an anti-social spaces that although people are doing the same things but
they do not communicate with others that much, even when someone has questions.
It is worth to try out an installation that indicates those who have problems
and to remind those who are capable to help them out.
